hi can any body help when driving along 20mph + my fto loses power and stalls ,most times it does not restart straight away after about a minute it will restart but will do the same again further down the road
now heres the odd thing the fault goes away and starts again days later
can any body help

stepper motor? look in grease monkey

+1. Very likely to be the stepper motor. Take it out and give it a good clean. If that doesn't work, you need a new one!

Hello and WTTC.

Does your engine idle perfectly - when cold and when at operating temperature? If it doesn't idle well, it could be the stepper motor as suggested above.

You say you are having problems when driving at low speeds and the engine cuts out ? Is this with your foot on the throttle, or when your foot is off the throttle and thus slowing down? Again it could be the stepper or it could be the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) is playing up whilst at low speeds. I had similar with a faulty TPS, but it caused mine to kangaroo instead of cutting out.

When was the last time it was serviced ? What model FTO is it and what gearbox do you have in it ?
