NEWBIE!!!

Hi all,

I am of course new to the owners club, ;) I have had a GPX, 1995, for 3 years now, which has recently been poorly due to my ex partner going into the back of another car. Being female with an FTO is, I find in 1 respect very very daunting when it comes to repairs etc. Does any other female find that? I have learnt over the years however, to be a bit flirty, and luckily, after my pride and joys little bump, found this to be a major asset. The 'I was only doing about 10 miles an hour' crash, seems to have been more like a 30 mile an hour smash. Bonnet, bumper lights, crumple zones into the radiator:roll: the list goes on.... I have managed (by pure determination) to source the parts off ebay of all places, and found some very nice people to fit them.

She won't start after being sat since christmas, having had the battery disconnected, DERRR (don't do it) but I have a car alarm man comming tomorrow, so fingers and toes crossed, she'll be back on the road again.(yes I have tried jumping it, many times in fact lol AND it has a new battery)

I am looking forward to teaching her to drive again. Sounds stupid really, but there is something about driving an FTO.....

Blabbing on abit now, so I hope to become a fully fledged member to get tips/friends/laughs/banter etc etc.

hi kelly wttc your lucky theres loads of members in your area hurry up and join you would probally of sourced your parts cheaper on here we have a few breakers as members,its probally the imobiliser thats stopping you from starting i had a similar problem think theres a meet near you where they fix what you bring so look on the site when you become a member we all love our p&js they are very good old cars to drive good luck

I have put an attachment on for a pic. I will become a member, Friday is payday!!! Whoop whoop.

I had a feeling it was the alarm. Suppose they would be useless if it was as simple as just disconnecting the battery lol

Hope to have the tappets done soon, getting a little bit rattley, so joining would be very useful (i have the tappet tool:dancinbush:)

I will let you know whether or not it is the alarm (touch wood, whistle and pray like f***):violin:

welcome Kelly, nice clean example of fto you have there, an i try an watch an learn when things get done to my baby, but does help my bro bein a mechanic, plus boyfriend is into cars, albeit vw,s, oh well, he will soon come round!! :)
