Next SE/Kent meet [Archive]

OK chaps and chapesses. Now JAE is out of the way, as promised I'll sort us a nice little meet out. So I need a venue, somewhere central (Maidstone-ish would be ideal). I've tried Googling for a decent pub with a good size carpark that isn't the Grasshopper, White Rabbit (I won't get down the hill) or Malta Inn (they were knobs last time cos I forgot to ring ahead...). Suggestions please and I'll do the rest.

There are a couple of pubs in sheerness with large car parks (ship on shore looks the best) but i am thinking about the weather we are currently having. Not sure it will be idea if the meet is later in the year - especially as they are predicting snow. Either that or Hernebay has a few pubs along the seafront, there is a large car park there - or the Hampton Inn.

Bet there's some on the a20 between ashford and maidstone. Sods law on the three weeks I was going to sheerness, sittingbourne and Faversham, I was never sent out maidstone way. The Jenny wren sittingbourne has a decent size car park, sheerness I would think twice about going there as we may draw the wrong sort of a crowd! A really good venue would also be pluckley, the most haunted place in the UK. Same place James may and hamster tried to sleep in a car.

ladyathena Beautiful location shame about the service and staff. After a days cycling we wanted to rest and refuel shame we chose here to do it. The price they charge is unbelievable £8.99 for a ploughmans. Also after being told 20-30 mins for our food my husband asked where it was after we had waited an hour to be told to be quiet. Not a place i would visit again. The staff make you feel unwelcome and i agree with previous comments they are hostile.

I don't think the island would be good for a meet, as Brian said it may draw the wrong people around.

I shall put my thinking cap on.

Ladyathena sounds like a lovely place to miss lol

you can get unwanted attention anywhere you go - but with a crowd it would be highly unlikely - unless they are stupid! (maybe i'm starting to understand now!)

Still trying to identify a pub... as soon as that's done I'll get it sorted, but I need suggestions as I'm too far out to scope out car parks and stuff. Don't want to do the Grasshopper (I'm eyeing that for an Xmas dinner), and the Malta Inn is a HUGE no. The White Rabbit in Maidstone is a no too as I won't get down the slope as the car is too low.

I know it's a bit cold at the moment but has anyone got any ideas for a meet. The last 1 i went to was in essex arranged by Steve of S&S and that was on 19/11/11. Feels like ages - so come on lads/ladies when's the next mini meet in our area?

Well we have got the London Motor Museum meet coming up in a month and June is the Ace cafe meet , so I reckon it would be a good idea to have a meet slap bang in the middle down the Grasshopper. So that would be April, what do you guys think? We had two twin turbo's last time down there, now spaceboy has silas have done theirs we can make it four!!!
