A History Of Club Events
& FTOOC Mini Meets
From it's very beginnings, and throughout the years, the Club and its community of Members have added to the FTO ownership spirit with our Club Stands and Prizes at national car meets & FTOOC Official Events - Plus countrywide local FTO mini-meets organised by Members.
Our Official Meets and National Auto Shows help bring our community together and put faces to Forum names and their FTOs, along with petrol head chat, boot-sales & knowledge-swapping. The Club's local Mini-meets also help Members get to know fellow owners in their area.

The FTOOC - Born Out Of An Event
The FTOOC - Born Out Of An Event
How the Club began:
It was after Club Founder Jon Jones bought an FTO GR on a whim that he realised he had no idea where to source parts or get advice.

He made calls and sent flyers to garages that he knew were selling FTOs in the hope they would be seen by new purchasers.
Within a very short period of time he got FTO owner feedback from all over the UK and, in the Autumn of 1998, set about arranging the 1st Official FTOOC Meet at Hatton Country World near Warwick.

Expecting only a handful of owners to make the journey, over forty FTOs arrived... and the rest is history.

Printed newsletters followed, which helped keep members informed as the core basis of the Club's communication. For just over a year Jon ran it on his own until all the admin work became shared voluntarily among its growing Membership.
With Jon now having actively retired, and the Club under new leadership, we give thanks to the many people who put in a lot of effort in the early days and whose voluntary work kept the FTO spirit alive; Dave Wilson for helping arrange meets and admin. Steve Hemming and Dawn Woodward who ran the immense task of Memberships, helping make the Club the huge success it ultimately became.
From those early years we also thank Richard Batty, Linley Gales, Dave Hughes, Chris Grayshon-Pedley, Phil Stevens, Andy McNaughton Jones, Richard Jenkins, Chris Hayes, Stuart Mutch, Patt Torr, Kieran Barnes, Grace Carlyle and so many more, for contributing much time and effort into making the Club an informative and reliable resource for our FTO Owners' Club community.

We now welcome you to come on in,
JOIN UP, and become part of keeping
that FTO Community Spirit Alive.
